NIST has awarded nearly $3 million in cooperative agreements to 15 education and community organizations in 11 states, aiming to address the shortage of skilled cybersecurity employees in the U.S. The grants of approximately $200,000 each will support the development of a diverse cybersecurity workforce through the NICE partnership, focusing on cybersecurity education and training aligned with the NICE Workforce Framework for Cybersecurity

The funded projects will establish Regional Alliances and Multistakeholder Partnerships to Stimulate (RAMPS) cybersecurity education and workforce development, promoting various initiatives from curriculum development to work-based learning experiences. These efforts aim to create career pathways and address workforce needs at the local and regional levels, ultimately contributing to economic development. The awarded organizations will work towards building a skilled cybersecurity workforce to defend the nation's organizations and critical infrastructure from cybersecurity risks.
