CISA and partners release a fact sheet on defending against pro-Russia hacktivist activity

CISA, along with U.S. and international partners, has published a joint fact sheet to provide information and mitigations against ongoing pro-Russia hacktivist activities targeting industrial control systems and operational technology systems in critical infrastructure sectors like Water and Wastewater, Energy, Dams, and Food and Agriculture

Despite using mostly unsophisticated techniques, these hacktivists have shown the capability to pose physical threats in insecure OT environments. The fact sheet recommends defenses for OT operators and promotes secure design principles. CISA advises visiting their Secure by Design webpage and Cross-Sector Cybersecurity Performance Goals for additional protection against threats.
