The Hellenic Supervisory Authority (SA) imposed fines of 400,000€ and 40,000€ on the Ministry of the Interior and another controller, respectively, for GDPR infringements related to the transfer of expats' personal data file outside the Ministry without lawful basis. The file contained email addresses and telephone numbers of Greek expatriate voters and was sent for analyzing election results. The SA instructed the Ministry to comply with GDPR measures within a specified timeframe and ordered deletion of unlawfully processed data by the other controller

Further investigation was postponed for New Democracy political party and another potential controller. The case did not affect the voting process.
